Picture this… You've got home from school, you've got smiley faces and turkey dinosaurs for tea and you're about to eat in front of your gigantic TV just in time for CITV's My Parents Are Aliens.
Those were the good days, ey? Well, we are looking further into the nostalgic noughties era to have a look at what the cast are up to these days following one of them being cast in Coronation Street this week.
Yep, that's right, one of the actresses from the smash hit comical kids programme is in one of Britain's best-loved soaps.
But what are the others up to? Let's take a look…
Tony Gardner – Brian Johnson
The series made its TV debut over 20 years ago and Tony Gardner's character Brian soon became a firm fan favourite.
He starred as orphaned children's Mel, Josh and Sophie's new alien dad from when the series started until it came to an end in 2006.
Toby has since gone on to more TV appearances including starring as Dan Miller in The Thick Of It, featured in Lead Balloon, The Lenny Henry Show, Doctor Who and is currently in Last Tango in Halifax.
Some MPAA fans may also recognise him from playing Tony Shales in Fresh Meat – the sleazy professor who had an affair with his pupil, Oregon.
He also went viral back in 2019, when a fan spotted him having a blast at Glastonbury Festival, where he was hilariously having the time of life while dancing around a leopard-print suit.
Barbara Durkin – Sophie Johnson
Barana Durkin played Sophie, the alien mum, until the start of series 3, after her character morphed into a new body and got stuck.
The plot was used to explain why the actress was replaced on the show in 2000.
Barbara went on to appear in several TV stints including Midsomer Murders, Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps and Heartbeat.
She's also made two guest appearances in Doctors, The Bill and My Family.
Carla Mendonça as Sophie Johnson
Carla Mendonça played Sophie 2.0 after the clever writers conjured up a plan to explain the removal of Barbara.
The star took to the role like a natural and from series three played Sophie for the majority of the show and up until the final episodes.
Since her MPAA role, she featured in in sitcom Roman's Empire with the IT Crowd's Chris O'Dowd and Gavin and Stacey's Mathew Horne.
Funnily enough, Carla also starred on Doctors just like Barbara but the strange thing about her three appearances was they were as three completely different characters.
But she has mainly stayed within the kid's TV sector, playing a part in CBBC show's My Dad's the Prime Minister, Dani's House, Scoop and So Awkward.
However, on Monday Coronation Street fans were left stunned as they discovered the new Deputy Head of Weatherfield High was Carla, linking her face to MPAA.
Danielle McCormack – Mel Barker
Eldest child Mel, played by Danielle McCormack, was your typical moody teenager who loved to break the rules and go against her new alien 'rents.
Mel was known for her quirky and questionable fashion sense and often donned bold hairstyles.
The Yorkshire actress looks very different now though and continued her career as an actress featuring in Where the Heart Is, Casualty and Doctors.
Film-wise, Danielle also starred in Wrecked back in 2009.
She has since turned her hand to singing and songwriting and has written a number of tracks with Geordie Walker from Killing Joke.
Alex Kew – Josh Barker
Middle child Josh was Del Boy of the bunch and was always scheming his next money-making scheme.
The spiky-haired lad was played by Alex Kew who now looks unrecognisable with his rugged beard and longer barnet.
The rockstar guitarist turned to the music world after the show and joined a local band called The Wutars in 2009.
But he didn't shut the door on acting completely and briefly appeared in 2Point4 Children, The Bill and Coming of Age.
He also had a small part in About A Boy in 2002 alongside Hugh Grant.
However, these days the musician is now mainly focused on his solo music career and regularly posts updates about his gigs on social media.
Charlotte Francis – Lucy Barker
Youngest kid Lucy was the smartest of the Barker clan and was a self-declared science geek.
Charlotte Francis played the caring schoolgirl who was always the one helping her alien foster parents to separate right from wrong.
She is still best known for her part as Lucy in the hit CITV children's comedy-drama but she has also appeared in The Mrs. Bradley Mysteries and Office Gossip.
