The first season of NCIS: Hawaii will continue next Monday with another thrilling case in episode four, ‘Paniolo’. In the new instalment of CBS’s latest NCIS spin-off, Jane Tennant (played by Vanessa Lachey) springs into action when a vicious attack puts a Hawaiian cowboy in hospital.
Jane Tennant and the Pearl Harbor team could face their first major loss in the next exciting episode of NCIS: Hawaii.
The agents engage in an intense face-off at a ranch in the latest promotional trailer for Monday’s new episode.
Thankfully, Tennant and Boone (Noah Mills) manage to apprehend the prime suspect after a thrilling chase through the stables.
Unfortunately, the situation isn’t looking too good back at NCIS headquarters.
An additional promo clip sees Boone and Tara (Yasmine Al-bustami) visit Master Sergeant Kaleo Whitman (Kila Packett) after a chilling attack.
Whitman explains he was suddenly shot when out riding his horse on Kahana on his day off.
“All of a sudden I felt this white-hot pain in my side,” he recalls.
When Tara asks what happens next, Whitman reveals he tried to ride away before being shot a second time.
“I didn’t see anybody,” he admits. “There are hunters up there, must’ve been one of them. Mistook me for a trophy.”
Although Whitman tries to laugh the incident off, his visiting partner chastises him for cracking a joke.
She reminds him there’s nothing funny about the situation, to which he apologizes.
While Whitman doesn’t appear to be in a critical condition, getting shot twice could require some major surgery.

An official description for the episode reads: “When a beloved Paniolo (Hawaiian cowboy) is shot while out riding his horse, Jane and her team must gain the trust of the Paniolo community to help find the culprits and protect the Paniolo’s life.”
However, Tennant and the team clearly have a difficult task ahead of them if they’re to bring those responsible to justice in time.
Meanwhile, fellow agent Kai Holman (Alex Tarrant) is facing challenges of his own, this time much closer to home.
The synopsis adds: “Kai tries to convince his stubborn father to see a doctor.”
Kai’s father’s specific health condition has yet to be revealed, but the young agent could have a tough road ahead.
While the series is unlikely to burden Kai with such a heavy loss this early in the proceedings, his father’s failing health will no doubt hang over the rest of the season.
The third NCIS spin-off has delivered non-stop thrills thus far, but episode four could see the team taking heavy hits on all sides.
NCIS: Hawaii season 1 continues Monday, October 11 on CBS.
