Piers Morgan demands Meghan ‘names royals who rejected her request for help’

Piers Morgan has demanded that Meghan Markle "names royals who rejected her request for help" after claiming she was suicidal.

The 56-year-old presenter appeared on Tucker Carlson's Fox News show on Bank Holiday Monday to discuss his shock exit from Good Morning Britain.

He came under fire for his comments about not believing Meghan's claim she had been turned away from the Palace when she asked for help following suicidal thoughts.

Piers said on the ITV breakfast show that he "didn't believe a word" the former Suits actress the day after the Oprah interview aired in the UK.

At the start of his hour-long Fox News interview, Tucker asked the former newspaper editor about the Duchess of Sussex's suicidal claims.

"You're accusing people in the palace of being unspeakably cruel simply to protect the brand of the Royal family, if that is true let's have the names of these people and let's go to them and ask them is this true," Piers told the talk show host.

"'Did you tell a suicidal woman, who told you she was suicidal, not to get help?' – because I find that impossible to believe."

Meghan made comments about her mental health during a 90-minute interview with Oprah Winfrey, which aired last month.

The former actress said she had been told she would not be able to seek help as it "wouldn't be good for the institution."

During the CBS interview, the Duchess also said there had been conversations with herself and Prince Harry about their son Archie's skin tone before he was born.

Piers said on Monday that Meghan was "accusing the Queen and the Monarchy and the institution as being racist".

He suggested that if the question was as "innocent" as somebody saying "given Meghan's father is white, her mother's black, what colour would the baby be" that he believes this would be an "innocent question."

However, he said that if it were "loaded with a sense of derogatory tone or concern, then it becomes racism."

Whilst the former newspaper editor admitted he liked Meghan's television show Suits, where she appeared on seven seasons, and praised Harry for going to war, his kind words soon ran dry.

He added: "But what's happened to that guy? He's turned into a whiny brat,” he told the host.

"He's in his mid-30s crying his dad won't fund him financially."

Piers quit Good Morning Britain after being asked to retract comments he made about Meghan.

Speaking about departure, he said: "It's not really about Meghan Markle -she's a delusional duchess who wants to make millions off the royals while trashing family – It's really about free speech.

"What happened to me is happening all over Britain and America – I can take it, but there are many people who don't have our platform who are being wiped out, lives destroyed, careers ended for ridiculous things."
