The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Mary Cosby reportedly didn’t show up for the season 2 reunion. While it’s unclear if the preacher plans to return, she has left hints on social media that she’s quit the franchise.
Mary Cosby reportedly skipped ‘RHOSLC’ season 2 reunion
A few months following filming the second season of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, the Housewives gathered for the inevitable reunion. According to sources, Mary Cosby opted not to join Andy Cohen and her co-stars, intentionally skipping it.
One insider claimed the preacher refused to attend because she didn’t want to answer for her “racist” comments toward Jen Shah and newcomer Jennie Nguyen. The source also reported that Cosby preferred not to talk about the rumors surrounding her church, including running it as a cult and stealing from her congregation members.
Additionally, the preacher seemingly has no allies remaining in the cast as the other ladies wanted her to attend the reunion and address the allegations and her remarks.
After the news broke, Cosby admitted she skipped it in a now-deleted tweet, claiming “those girls don’t deserve my presence.” She ended by noting she’s only concerned with her church and that “haters can go jump.”
She later ‘liked’ comments implying she quit the franchise
The 49-year-old remained active on social media as she replied to several fans who wanted her to take accountability for offensive comments she made on the show. While Cosby apologized for comparing Shah to a “Mexican thug” who “makes all those drugs,” she doubled down on her several anti-Asian remarks to Nguyen.
The preacher insisted she never meant anything offensive by calling the newcomer’s eyes “slanted” or mocking an Asian accent. She also addressed her apparent exit from the show by posting a quote from Dr. Marcia Sirota about how reality television “lowers IQ” and “increases rudeness.”
The Toronto-based psychiatrist also compared reality TV to “junk food,” claiming it could “rot our brain” as well. Cosby included another quote from Dr. Sirota that talked about how it could affect children as they “tend to confuse reality TV with the real world.”
She also “liked” a couple of comments alluding to her leaving the show on her terms, including one in which a fan claimed, “How can you fire someone who quit? If Mary doesn’t show up, it’s obvious what her intentions are.” Additionally, Cosby “liked” a tweet with a GIF comparing her to a semifinalist for America’s Next Top Model Cycle 3, who infamously quit.
Cosby has had a memorable two seasons on the show
When RHOSLC premiered, many viewers were most interested in Cosby’s story as they discovered her marriage to her step-grandfather.
The polarizing character got into one of the season’s first dramas with Shah when she complained about her co-star’s “hospital scent.” After another heated altercation, Cosby stopped hanging out with the women as much and was mostly filmed talking to her co-stars via FaceTime from her closet.
She seemingly had the best relationship with Whitney Rose, but it deteriorated the following season when she felt the Iris and Beau owner ignored her phone calls. Additionally, Meredith Marks learned of the rumors surrounding Cosby’s church from an ex-congregation member.
Although she has chosen to continue supporting the preacher, the other ladies want to know the truth. It seems as though no one will get the answers as Cosby has skipped the reunion, likely ending her time on the show. The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City airs Sundays on Bravo.
