Selling Sunset originally made its debut on Netflix last year and has since gained itself a loyal fanbase. The reality series returned for a second series earlier this year and the third was released this month. Fans are now eagerly waiting to find out for sure if there is a fourth season on the horizon.
WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Selling Sunset.
Selling Sunset is a reality series which is based on the employees at The Oppenheim Group in Los Angeles.
The brokerage sells multi-million dollar homes to the rich and famous which fans can virtually snoop around while watching the show.
Selling Sunset delves into what really goes on behind the scenes at a brokerage, highlighting the successes and the pitfalls of trying to make sales.
But when the real estate agents aren’t trying to sell the luxurious properties, a lot of the time they are at each others’ throats.
Selling Sunset focuses both on the professional and personal lives of the agents working at The Oppenheim Group.
So their love lives, friendships and rivalries are discussed in every episode, in between showing clients the extraordinary houses.
The combination of beautiful homes and office drama has been the reason for the show’s ongoing popularity.
However, Selling Sunset’s unique selling point is also the reason why The Oppenheim Group’s President wished he never took part in the first place.
Why does Jason Oppenheim regret Selling Sunset?
Boss Jason Oppenheim was the one who agreed to Netflix entering his business with the show’s cameras to film what happens at the brokerage.
While Jason signed up to the experience, he has since spoken out about regretting putting The Oppenheim Group in the spotlight.
Speaking to Hello! magazine, Jason said: “Had I known the show would be this focused on our personal lives I probably wouldn’t have signed up for it.
“I wanted it to be all about the nuances of real estate, but I now realise the show I envisaged wouldn’t be that popular!
“I’ve come to accept the idea that I’m on more of a reality show than a real estate show.”

Even though there are plenty of amazing houses being shown in series three, the latest season of Selling Sunset was mainly focused on agent Chrishell Stause’s divorce.
Last year, This Is Us actor Justin Hartley filed for divorce after just two years of marriage, following four years of dating.
Chrishell told colleague Mary Fitzgerald how Justin told her about filing via text and then 45 minutes later, “the world knew”.
She said: “Because of the crazy way in which this went down, people want answers and I f***ing want answers.
“In a fight, that’s his go-to, ‘I’m out, I’m out’, I hate that kind of impulsive stuff.
“But I always just thought that’s an issue that we’d work through it.”
As of writing this article, Selling Sunset season four has not been confirmed by Netflix.
With the third series ending on a dramatic note as Chrishell stormed out of Christine Quinn’s wedding, it does seem more than likely the reality show will return.
If season four is confirmed, filming could be delayed due to the pandemic which has put a halt to many television series across the world.
Selling Sunset is available to watch on Netflix.
