Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) was left heartbroken in Emmerdale when Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) was sent down for murder, but nonetheless he remained adamant that they could get through it together. However, he was later devastated to discover that Robert had cut all contact with not only him, but his entire family after he was transferred to a different prison.
Matters were made worse when Aaron later received a letter, notifying him that his husband had started divorce proceedings. Unable to comprehend the thought of a life without his lover, the young man sought solace in a life of crime with Cain (Jeff Hordley).
However, after a dodgy deal resulted in Moses getting caught in the crossfire, he soon came to his senses. That is, until Wendy (Susan Cookson) moved into the village — something which resulted in Aaron attempting to seek revenge on behalf of his imprisoned husband.
After not hearing from Robert in about two months, Aaron is given some hope in the coming episodes as Victoria (Isabel Hodgins) receives a letter from her brother. However, his happiness is short-lived, as he soon realises that he hasn’t received one for himself.
Aaron’s heart will no doubt be all the more broken as a result, and knowing that Robert has refrained from sending him a letter has no doubt further confirmed his fears that his marriage is well and truly over.
Liv (Isobel Steele), Chas (Lucy Pargeter) and Victoria soon realise that Aaron isn’t in a good place, and thus they swoop into action to find him when he goes missing.
Aaron’s not in a good place, and he heads to the wood. Later, Sam (James Hooton) and Cain stumble upon Robert’s car in the woods — and it’s seemingly been abandoned.
Will Aaron’s family be able to track him down and support him through his tough time?
