Former Strictly Come Dancing professional Flavia Cacace-Mistry appeared on Sunday mornings BBC Breakfast to speak about the performances from Saturday night. After praising EastEnders star Rose Ayling-Ellis and partner Giovanni Pernice’s Couple’s Choice performance, Flavia went on to reveal who she thought may be in trouble and be facing the dreaded dance-off this week.

Joining Chris Mason on BBC Breakfast, he asked: “20-second challenge for you, who’s going out and who’s going to win?”

Scared by his question, Flavia replied: “Ahh, well for me, I’ve been a big fan of Rose and Tilly, I think Rose deserves to win.

“I think she started at a certain level and she just constantly working her way up and that I completely admire her as a dancer and the way she has taken on this experience.

“Who’s leaving is going to be difficult, I think Dan will be fine, AJ is at the bottom, it all depends on whether the audience will save her from the dance-off.

“Obviously, you’ve got Tilly and Sara who in the middle of the board, which is a little bit of a danger zone for both of them, I think.

“Tom wasn’t his strongest performance, but I think he will be ok, so I think I’m a little bit worried about Tilly and Sara, and we’ll have to see if AJ is saved or not,” she revealed.

Speaking on Dan’s performance from Saturday night, Chris said: “Let’s talk about our man Dan and his American Smooth.

“What was it that Craig said, a desperate lack of style’ and then he got a four from Craig and a nine from Anton, what a discrepancy.”

Flavia laughed and said: “Yeah, I mean, I agree more with Anton, I’ve said from the beginning that Dan will be good at the Ballroom.

“As the weeks went on, I was a bit, ‘oh actually, I’m not sure anymore I think he’s actually much more confident when he’s dancing solo’,” she admitted.

Flavia continued: “He looks a little bit more unsure when he is in hold with Nadiya, but yesterday was the first time that I saw the Ballroom boy coming out.

“He was starting to use his shape, his top line, which is very elegant, his long legs moving across the floor, and he was starting to look confident in hold.

“He does look very good when in that Ballroom hold, so I saw improvements last night from Dan, and I think that was his best dance.”

Dan and partner Nadiya Bychkova performed the American Smooth to King of the Road by the Proclaimers.

They received a score of 29 out of a possible 40, receiving their first nine of the series, but they still placed second to last on the leaderboard.

Dan has become the new favourite with Ladbrokes to be eliminated from the BBC competition this weekend.

The bookies make the TV presenter 5/4 favourite to get the boot, with Sara Davies following closely behind at 6/4 favourite.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Dan Walker may have received his highest score of the series, but it doesn’t look as though it’ll be enough to save him from the Strictly chop this weekend.”

He added: “Meanwhile, AJ’s poor performance on Saturday night has only strengthened Rose’s position at the head of the betting, and the EastEnders star is now shorter than ever for this year’s Glitterball Trophy.”

BBC Breakfast airs every day from 6am on BBC One.
