Anne Hegerty unveiled her new "stylish" hairdo on Wednesday's episode of The Chase.

Anne, 63, also known as The Governess, left her co-star Bradley Walsh and viewers at home seriously impressed with her new look.

Speaking on the hit ITV gameshow, host Bradley, 61, said: "Anne Hegerty, love your new hair cut!"

To which the the Chaser replied: "Thank you very much indeed, Bradley," with Bradley adding: "That is great, you look great!"

Viewers at home were also left stunned over the new "stylish" hairdo as they took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

One person said: "Anne’s hair looks fab #thechase," followed by a thumbs-up emoji.

A different viewer put: "@anne_hegerty stylish hair on tonight’s #Chase Anne."

While another show watcher added: "@anne_hegerty love your new hair style. Suits you," followed by a red heart emoji.

It comes after Anne revealed that she would love to land a role in ITV soap Coronation Street.

Speaking during a recent episode of the popular afternoon ITV quiz show, Anne confessed she’d be more than up for walking down the iconic cobbles, saying: “Please cast me.”

Anne made the admission during a chat with The Chase host Bradley Walsh when a former Corrie actress’ name was one of the possible answers to the question she was tackling.

As she tried to work out whether soap legend Violet Carson – who played Corrie’s Ena Sharples – had ever won an Oscar, Bradley suggested Anne herself would be a welcome addition to the soap.

As Anne deliberated, her pal Bradley, who himself starred in Coronation Street as businessman Danny Baldwin between 2004 and 2006, turned to Anne and said: “You would be great in Coronation Street!”

He added: “I’m not being rude, but you would be a great battle-axe type character. I think you would be great!”

And rather than bite Bradley’s head off for his suggestion, former I’m A Celebrity star Anne agreed she’d like a stint in Weatherfield, replying: “Yes, please cast me!”

However, this isn’t the first time The Governess has revealed she’d like the opportunity to show off her acting skills.

Previously opening up about her bucket list ambitions, the TV star said she’d be very willing to take on the challenge of stepping into a characters’ shoes.

Anne explained: “It would be lovely to do a bit of acting. If anyone would like me to do some acting, I’d be up for it.”
