The One Show airs on weekdays on BBC One at 7pm but the magazine show will be missing from its usual spot on Friday. Children in Need will instead broadcast at this time Mel Giedroyc, Graham Norton, Chris Ramsey, Ade Adepitan and Alex Scott host a jam-packed evening of money-raising entertainment.
Children in Need will kick off at 7pm and air for three hours on Friday.
EastEnders has also been cancelled but an extra episode of the soap aired earlier in the week to compensate.
The fundraising event will take place for the first time in Media City UK, Salford.
During the night, BBC viewers will see the return of the hit talent show I Can See Your Voice.

Paddy McGuinness hosts the segment while Jimmy Carr, Alison Hammond, Amanda Holden and Pudsey join in.
EastEnders star Danny Dyer enlists the help of CBBC’s Sam and Mark to win money for charity in The Wall.
Meanwhile, Jay Blades presents a special edition of The Repair Shop.
Bear repair duo Amanda Middlemarch and Julie Tatchell carry out a heart-warming restoration for a young boy.
Viewers will be treated to music from Ed Sheehan, Tom Grennan and the cast of the UK Tour of 9 to 5 the Musical.
On Thursday, Zoe Ball and Ronan Keating hosted The One Show.
The presenters welcomed Children in Need’s Surprise Squad who have been helping out charities across the UK.
Ronan explained: “Now it’s a really important show tonight because it’s our final appearance from the Surprise Squad.

“They are the five inspirational young people who’ve rolled up their sleeves over the last few weeks to help charities up and down the country.
“Now they’ve all been helped by Children in Need themselves and wanted to give something back.”
Later on in the instalment, Surprise Squad member Dylan left The One Show viewers in tears as he danced to Robbie Williams’ Love My Life in the studio.
Clemency Drew tweeted: “So so moving! Congratulations Dylan and the rest of the squad.”
