Pete Wicks has opened up on his fear of getting hurt as he admits he doesn't give women a chance when it comes to romance.

The 32 year old has had a number of relationships with a host of reality TV stars, most recently enjoying a secret two year romance with his The Only Way Is Essex co-star Chloe Sims.

In an OK! online exclusive clip from Sunday night's episode of the hit ITVBe show, Pete confides in Liam 'Gatsby' Blackwell about his struggle with committing to relationships.

Gatsby tells his pal as they sit on a park bench: "I think, for me as well, when I get close to somebody I get like, I don’t know, I just don't like putting my emotions on the line and I get a bit like, I think I get a bit scared for some reason."

Pete, who has more recently been linked to Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause, admits: "It's the fear of getting hurt, ain't it? Because you'll never know what someone else is gonna do, and that's the thing that I don't like.

"I'm in control of my whole life, but I'm not in control of how someone else feels. When it comes to relationships, it's the fact that I don't really know anyone that has been married for 50 odd years and it's this fairytale thing.

"Everyone I know has got divorced, split up, it's been a mess and it kind of puts me off, because I don't want to go through that.

"I still have in my head, I want the fairytale, I want to get married and I want to have kids and I want to do all that, but I want to do that once and I want to do that with the person I fall in love with. But my problem is that I’m not giving anyone a chance."

Gatsby responds: "At least you've like recognised what's wrong, you've admitted it.

"So why don't you give, maybe, the next girl that you meet, just give her a chance. Because I don't know what’s going to happen with this girl, it might not work with Dani.

"It might work, it might not, but it’s the risk I’m willing to take," he continued.

Pete reasoned: "I don't want to be on my own forever, but the way I'm going I will be," as the conversation came to a close.

The hunk recently opened up to OK! online about rumours surrounding the nature of his and US reality star Chrishell's romance, saying: "Chrishell is a good friend. She's absolutely lovely.
