Vikings has just one final series left to tie up loose ends, and viewers are eager to watch how the final chapter will conclude.
Fans have long been speculating how Ragnar’s sons will conclude their ongoing feud in the Amazon Prime hit.
There is set to be more violent battle scenes as last season saw that Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) and Ivar the Boneless (Alexander Hogh Andersen) have been feuding for some time, and will surely engage in a brutal battle by the end of the series.
But shieldmaiden Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) also has some enemies to fight, and last week saw a series of leaked spoiler photos surface on Reddit.
I will not watch if something happens to Lagertha
Viewers were a little shocked earlier this year when leaked images of season six showed a burning pyre being pushed into the river wearing Lagertha’s shield.
This led fans to believe she would soon be killed off, and with a brand new image following on the Vikings Reddit page, fans were sent into a frenzy.
However, Katheryn appears to have confirmed the worst for her character after sharing a report of the leaked Reddit photos on Twitter.
Fans were outraged the star appeared to reveal her own death and were quick to comment on the bad news.
One fan even threatened to stop watching the historical drama altogether, bluntly tweeting: “I will not watch if something happens to Lagertha.”
“I just cant bear it its tearing me apart inside right now. This is going to rip another hole inside of me to not be able to see you fighting and RUUULING” added another.
A third added “Nope can’t do it can’t watch her die too sad”
However, most fans were just enraged the star had dared to spoil their favourite series, as the tweet was hit with a flood of comments from disappointed fans.
One user tweeted: “Why r u sharing spoilers beloved?”
While another added: “Why would you do this to me?”
Although the tweet came as sad news to the Vikings fandom, they haven’t seen the last of the Lagertha star yet.
Katheryn will be reuniting with Bjorn star Alexander Ludwig later this month to unveil the first trailer for Vikings season six at the San Diego Comic-Con on July 20.
However, fans will have mixed emotions viewing the trailer as it will be the very last sneak preview at the upcoming series after creator Michael Hirst confirmed Vikings would be ending.
Season six will be an emotional watch for fans as six seasons of watching their favourite Vikings will come to an end.
However it has been hinted that the series could live on in a series of spin-offs.
Vikings season six is expected to return to History Channel and Amazon Prime Video this year.
