Vikings star Katheryn Winnick is about to announce her next project and we are too excited.
The 41-year-old has just celebrated the release of her latest series, Wu Assassins, where she joined her cast and crew in Los Angeles, on Thursday, for it’s Netflix debut.
And while revelling in the show’s success, the actress has revealed she’s making headway on a new movie, and it’s just a bit too much.
Taking to Instagram, the star shared a glamorous picture of herself getting her hair and makeup done while posing in a blue dress.
Writing alongside the snap, Katheryn spoke about her career, and what we can expect next.
‘This pic pretty much sums up my summer,’ she explained before adding: ‘Shooting two movies back to back and just about to announce my next one.’
The Polar star continued: ‘Even thought it’s fun to get all dolled up…I can’t tell you how much I cherish the days I can just throw on a baseball hat and sunglasses and walk out the door.’
Katheryn appears to have a busy time ahead of her, despite shunning the spotlight, as not only will she be announcing her movie, her epic series Vikings, which she helped direct, is set to drop onto the screens this Autumn.
Yes, earlier this week, the final season of the show finally got a release date, and while no specifics were mentioned, Amazon confirmed the History Channel hit will return in the next few months.
Not much is known about the finale, however showrunner Michael Hirst did reveal a snippet for what fans can expect.
He told Nerdist: ‘The vikings are going ever outwards as raiders and traders.
‘I’m writing season six now and they’re in the Silk Road. They’re trading with the Russians, going to China, they’re all around the Mediterranean. And it’s actually what happened.’
Katheryn, who plays Lagertha in the show, has also hinted at her character’s ‘last chapter’.
Chatting to ET Canada, the 41-year-old beamed: ‘I feel as though it’s a new chapter of her life, she is trying to now redefine who she is as someone who is a grandmother and used to be a queen, and a warrior, and now finding new peace. And redefining her last chapter.’
Vikings season six will return to Amazon Prime and the History Channel in Autumn this year.
