In late 2002 she began dating Ashton Kutcher, her co-star in Just Married.

In August 2006, they ended their engagement.
Who was Brittany Murphy's husband?
Simon Monjack was an English screenwriter, film director and film producer.
He married Simone Bienne in 2001, but they divorced in 2006.
He was married to his second wife, Brittany Murphy, from 2007 until her death on December 20, 2009, at the age of 32.
He was found dead just five months later on May 23, 2010, in his house in Hollywood, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
The coroner’s report found the cause of his death to be acute pneumonia and severe anemia, similar to the causes attributed to his wife Brittany’s death in the same house.
The new HBO documentary claims he "conned" the actress before her sudden death.
Director Cynthia Hill claimed Brittany was one of Simon's "last victims."
She said: "He was a disturbed individual who was used to conning people and Brittany was one of his last victims.
"There was a pattern of behavior that became very obvious the more research that we did."
Monjack reportedly had two secret children.
His daughter, Jasmine, was raised in Luton, United Kingdom, by her mother, Marcia Newman.
