Sinead Tinker (Katie McGlynn) has been part of so many pivotal storylines in Corrie, but fans fear that this may not be the case for long.
Sinead is currently battling cervical cancer, and rumours that actress Katie is leaving have led people to believe that it may be one she cannot win.
The Sun revealed a few months back that she would be leaving the soap, and this appeared to be confirmed when Lisa George – who plays Beth Tinker – said on the red carpet that she was ‘devastated’ to see her friend go.
There’s been a long list of exits from Corrie recently, including Bhavna Limbachia, Faye Brookes, and Kym Marsh. It still doesn’t get any easier however – for viewers or the characters involved in the storylines.
Thankfully it doesn’t look like we’ll be losing Sinead in the imminent future.
Katie herself has stated that she will be fulfilling her contract, and a spokesperson for the soap told metro.co.uk: ‘Katie is fully committed to playing out the extremely important storyline she is currently portraying on screen.
‘This story still has a long way to go. Any speculation threatens to undermine the storyline for viewers.’
A source did leak to the Sun, however, that the exit would be happening, and it would ‘leave viewers in tears’, as well as having an impact on Roy Cropper.
If the currently-tragic trajectory Sinead is on continues, then it’ll be impactful all round.
Actor Rob Mallard, who plays Sinead’s husband Daniel Osbourne told Metro.co.uk that the character would be utterly destroyed if Sinead didn’t make it, and added that he may not cut it as a single father to their baby, Bertie.
Will Sinead survive, or will those around her be forced to suffer such a massive loss?
