Gossip Girl fans were left wondering who this kid Milo Sparks is after he showed up in the new reboot episode, and the answer stems from the original series.
The 10-year-old boy turned out to be quite the eavesdropper, meddler, and brilliant schemer – just like his mother.
So, who is Milo Sparks (Azhy Robertson)? That’s one secret we will tell: He’s Georgina Sparks’ (portrayed by Michelle Trachtenberg) son.
In Season 3 of The CW’s Gossip Girl, Georgina showed up pregnant and insisted the child was none other than her ex Dan Humphrey’s (Penn Badgley).
She gave birth to the baby boy at the start of Season 4, and she diabolically schemed her way into proving that Dan was, indeed, the father, leading him to sign Milo’s birth certificate.
The boy’s full name is Milo Sparks Humphrey, but there’s a reason he introduced himself without the Humphrey during his cameo in episode 4 of the reboot.
Dan took care of the baby for a while, after Georgina left for an appointment and never returned, but his dad, Rufus, eventually discovered that Dan couldn’t possibly be Milos’ father because of their blood types.
Georgina eventually returned and came clean about the whole situation, revealing that Dan isn’t truly the boy’s father and she’s actually gotten pregnant by a married Russian man, whose wife was trying to kill her.
Lying about her son’s dad helped save both mom and baby’s life, allowing Georgina to move on, take her son with her, and find a new father figure for Milo in Philip Becker.
He was a loving stepfather to the kid, though he and Georgina seemingly got a divorce as she appeared to be dating Chuck Bass’ uncle, Jack, in the series finale’s time jump.
In present day, Milo told Zoya (Whitney Peak) that he’s in eighth grade and is 10 years old.
He overheard her problems with her half-sister Julien (Jordan Alexander) and said he could help take her down, with a little plotting and scheming, just like his mom.
Back at his house, photos lined the walls of Georgina with famous faces like Elon Musk and Ed Sheeran, as well as a solo shot of Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester).
Not only did Milo have intense ideas about how Zoya could scheme against her sister, but he also had the computer hacking skills to implement them.
Speaking with Teen Vogue, actor Azhy said of taking on the Gossip Girl role: “He's like an evil genius. He's almost a super villain. He's almost comically evil, like mustache twirling.
“He has a very different personality to all of the other people I've played and I figured it would be really cool and fun to play this guy and be in Gossip Girl.
“Which also, another thing is my cousin, she's a huge fan of Gossip Girl. And when my parents and I called her, she was really surprised and elated that I was in it, which was pretty cool.”
