You season three will be arriving on Netflix on October 15 and viewers are excited to see Joe (played by Penn Badgley) and his new wife Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti) return for the next chapter of their lives. The third outing will open with the married couple navigating life as parents in a new neighbourhood. The teaser video revealed they had named their baby Henry and viewers have been wondering why they picked the name.

Why is Joe and Love’s baby called Henry?

You fans were left in shock at the end of the second season as Love murdered Candace Stone (Ambyr Childers) in a dramatic twist.

Candace had tried to warn Love of what Joe was really capable of and she attempted to console Love when she discovered the truth.

However, in a fit of rage, Love took a glass bottle and killed Candace without a second thought.

Love and Joe then ran off together, moving into a new home and starting a new life as a married couple.

Season three details reveal they have welcomed a baby boy to their family, and an eerie trailer revealed the name.

The video shows a birthday cake being made and Joe is heard talking to his newborn son.

He says: “For you, I can change. I’ll be a man you look up to.

“A man you will be proud to call Dad. So, what to call you? A name that’s strong, but not intimidating. Classic, but not basic. Literary, of course, because you will grow up in a house full of books. Henry.

“Choosing your name is the first of a lifetime of decisions I’ll make to give you the best life possible, to protect you, to shape who you will become. Who are you going to be, Henry?”

Fans have started a discussion on why they chose Henry, as they were expecting a much more unique name.

Some believed they would go as far as to name the baby Forty, after Love’s brother (James Scully).

Love was under the impression the baby was a reincarnation of her brother and wanted to keep the name alive.

However Joe, who came to the conclusion he wanted to stop murdering people in season two, chose a different name.

He makes a point of saying he wants a name that is not intimidating, so perhaps the choice is a way to prove he changing his ways?

The name could also pay homage to his childhood as he grew up around books and developed a fascination for them.

One fan said on Twitter: “I thought the baby would have a more interesting name tbh Unamused face but I understand joe rejecting the trend of these new baby names.” [Sic]

Another said: “Henry, seriously? Looks like you put a lot of thought into that one, huh?”

Hopefully, an official reason as to why the name was chosen will come to light when the series airs.

Other viewers have suggested the name could refer to a certain book character or author.

One said: “Henry..interesting. *searching ever authors or books with Henry as name*” [Sic]

The name has definitely sparked controversy on social media, with viewers expecting something out of the ordinary.

One fan said on Twitter: “Terrifying parents but at least he’s got a cute name.” Meanwhile, another said: “Now does love approve of this name choice?”

A third said: “Henry ok I guess …thought it would be more creepy clever like I don’t know Chucky? Lol or Hunter haha but it’s all about the story and I can’t wait to see what mess Joe gets into this season lol.” [Sic]

A fourth added: “I don’t know… Henry gives me creepy stalker vibes or maybe it’s just his parents.”

You season 3 will air on Netflix on October 15.
